Types of Voucher Which Make a Big Different in Your Weekly Spend
It can be frustrating when you feel that your salary just isn’t enough to fund the lifestyle of your family; we get into a routine and then find that the cost of living just keeps on increasing. My kids would drive me mad if we didn’t still have the occasional day out and eat the same, so we’ve made the effort to do more research online before we spend to see if we can find discount vouchers and codes. Here are a few types of voucher which may make a big difference in your weekly spend too.
Medical & Beauty Appointments
Whenever it is time to book an eye test or a beauty treatment, I always check to see if there are any voucher codes I can find online. We all know that the little things can add up, so saving £10 on your eye test can make the whole process a little more bearable. I’m quite fortunate that my hair salon offers me vouchers as a loyal customer, but I do look for discounts when I’m getting a fake tan or my nails done. Click here for discount codes from Watch My Wallet and then look at the Health, Hair and Beauty category to find out what’s available in your area.
Takeaways
By the time Friday rolls around, we’re all so knackered from the work and school week that we all just want to sit down to a takeaway. The large pizza chains in the UK usually have an offer on that suits us as a family of five, so we’ll regularly choose one of these deals. We love it when we find a great offer on Chinese or Indian takeaway too. Sometimes the best deals are for collection only so if you are able to nip out in the car once you’ve placed your order, it can be worth it.
Grocery shops
The weekly grocery bill seems to increase all of the time, so we make the most of all of the vouchers and discount codes we can find. This means that don’t just shop in one supermarket, and also swap between going to the store ourselves, and ordering our groceries online. We recently got our Tesco Clubcard vouchers through the post and were pleased at how much we were able to save when we got to the checkout.
Restaurants & entertainment
Finally, we do like to eat out and go out as a family. We avoid going anywhere at the full rate though, so choose off-peak offers instead. Tuesday is a great day for going out for a meal as it is quiet and there are mid-week deals to be found. When it comes to entertainment, we always hold on to vouchers for Alton Towers and other popular attractions as it can make a day out a lot more affordable.
Kendra Parkinson is a mum of three from the UK. She started using vouchers and coupons this year in order to save money on her weekly spend at home.
