It is time that you realized the true potential of Led les and switched over to them. By doing so, you will save carbon emission and lower your energy bills by a great amount compared to the bills you are paying for while using incandescent bulbs.

Discovered and introduced by Thomas Edison, the incandescent lamps were the only early source of lighting houses, shops, and industries. The initial incandescent bulbs had a problem since the filament made during those days used to melt easily. However, it did not take too long to solve this problem. Another disadvantage of these filament based bulbs was that a huge amount of energy was wasted as heat while using them.

This type of lighting ruled supreme until the fluorescent lamp replaced it. Also known as cool lamps, these lamps consumed much less power while providing the same amount of luminance as the incandescent bulbs.

Even though these bulbs were more power efficient, did not waste energy as heat, they did not last for long and required replacement on a frequent basis. Apart from this, the fluorescent lamps would not light under low voltage conditions. The ballast used by these lamps also emitted carbon.

CFL (compact fluorescent lamps) that consumed less power than the fluorescent lamps and lasted longer later replaced these lamps. However, researchers were not going to sit idle. It was not long before advancements in science, and due to the continuous research by scientists, a new type of lamp appeared in the market. It was the Led lys. These lamps provide several benefits for both home and business lighting. Apart from that, the power consumed by such lamps is much less that of the fluorescent and CFL lamps.

So what makes these lamps different from the fluorescent and CFL lamps? Primarily, these new generation lamps are solid state devices and last for as long as 50,000 hours, which is about five times more than CFL lamps. Apart from low power consumption, the maintenance costs of such lamps is much less.

Check any store, physical or online, and you will find that these lamps are overtaking the other types of lamps in a huge way. It is easy to gauge the low power consumption of these lamps by the fact that certain models run efficiently using power drawn from a computer’s USB port. The Led T5/T8 tubes are changing the lighting scenario.

Also known as light emitting diodes the Led lights works on a simple principle. When electric current is applied to such a diode, the power excites the electrons inside the diode. This causes them to release protons, which is visible to us as light.

It is easy to change the color of the Led lys since it depends on the energy gap in the diode’s semiconductor. It is due to this that these lamps can produce a wide spectrum of colors while consuming very little electrical power. The Led lys are available in a wide range of sizes. The tiny lamps you see on your TV are typical examples of such lamps.
