Medical and Dental Care

One of the many benefits of working for a larger company is being able to gain access to medical benefits.

In fact, corporations often boast about their ability to offer this to their employees.

The unfortunate reality is that not all employees are going to be eligible for these benefits.

Although it can be difficult for an individual to have to deal with this, it is especially difficult for those with children.

Thus the following includes a few ways you may be able to receive medical and dental care for your children if your work doesn’t provide this already.

Medicaid

Perhaps the most well-known medical assistance program is Medicaid.

This program is funded partially by your state and the federal government.

However, both state and federal governments require that the recipient provide proof of limited income.

If you do qualify, your children may be able to benefit from Medicaid and thus receive the medical and dental care they need.

Note that this is also available to parents who may not be legal citizens but have children that are.

However, once those requirements are taken care of, you may begin to visit an approved Medicaid dentist and other medical professionals.

CHIP

As stated above, there is an income requirement to receive Medicaid. Too often, parents will be making just above the allowed limit and not be able to qualify for Medicaid.

Fortunately, programs like the Children’s Health Insurance Program, aka CHIP, exist to ensure that those children don’t go without the proper medical care.

Although funded by the federal government, each state does have its own individual requirements, and thus researching your particular state is highly recommended before sending your application.

The Affordable Care Act

The Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, is a government program enacted during the Obama Administration to lower the amount of Americans with no healthcare.

This has helped parents who do have some form of healthcare, but that does not extend enough to their children.

The Affordable Care Act eliminates that concern by allowing children to stay within their parent’s healthcare until the age of 26.

Every parent’s goal is to ensure that they are keeping their children safe, happy, and healthy.

Unfortunately, that can be extremely difficult for parents if their employer does not offer any form of medical or dental benefits.

Thus it is highly recommended to consider applying for the programs listed above.
