Family Holidays on a Budget
When people have debts hanging over them, often the first thing that they’re likely to cut back on is the luxuries in life like going on holiday. But when you have children, it can be hard to tell them that they won’t be going anywhere, especially if they hear that their friends are off to exciting destinations.
When money’s tight, it is still possible to go on holiday, if you think more creatively about it. For a start, if you can drive from home to your destination, already you’ll be saving on not having to pay for flights or other modes of transport. And a really economical holiday option is to go camping. Camping is a great choice as there are so many different places that you can visit. Every interesting holiday destination will always have campsites or holiday parks nearby. And, if you’re not that keen on doing the whole sleeping under canvas thing, you can often find reasonably priced mobile homes to let on many holiday parks.
Tenby caravan parks, for example, offer a mix of tent pitches, touring caravan pitches and mobile homes to let. There are even holiday lodges – which offer real home away from home comforts.
Thinking about the budget, staying on a holiday park means you can save on eating out, as you’ll have your own cooking facilities. There’s also plenty of on-site entertainment in the pool, play area, etc, so you don’t have to go off and do day trip all week while you’re away. Most holiday parks are in glorious locations by the sea, and what could be better (and more reasonably priced) than spending your holiday on the beach?
So, if you’re worried about making your holiday fund stretch far enough this year, consider trying a camping or holiday park vacation. It’s a great way to have a cheap holiday!
